The Lakeshore Foundation and its 80-person staff operate a state-of-the-art fitness and recreation complex on a 45-acre campus in Homewood, Alabama. Facilities include an aquatics center with two indoor pools; field house with three hardwood courts and a 200-meter track, a ten-lane marksmanship range; and a 6,000 square foot fitness center.

The campus is also home to the HealthSouth Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital the Birmingham office of the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services (ADRS).

The Foundation creates programming for persons with a wide range of physical disabilities, including: spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, stroke, amputation, and visual impairment as well as those diagnosed with heart conditions, arthritis, diabetes, and chronic pain.
