Education and Training of Sports Psychologists

According to Dr. Jennifer Carter, a sports psychologist who has worked with athletes from the Ohio State University, there are two paths on which students can embark if they wish to pursue a career in sports psychology. They can earn a doctoral degree in clinical/counseling psychology and take classes in kinesiology, or earn a higher-level degree in kinesiology/ exercise science and take classes in psychology.
